Frequently Asked Questions

1. What do I need to attach the Autolinx Travel Case?
   You need a standard 1.25" hitch receiver...Unless you're using the LinxQuad, which utilizes a 2" receiver. We can provide both.
   
    
2. Suppose the receiver on my motorcycle is verticle?
   Believe it or not, that's more often the case... Don't sweat it, we sell a simple device that converts it to a horizonal receiver. See hitch page.
   
    
3. What are my color options... can the case be painted?
   The case comes in one color (silver/gray). HDPE is a material that does not lend itself to paint, and we make no claims to such. That said, customers have been known to receive satisfactory results by utilizing a professional paint source (i.e., auto-body shop). We recommend you consult a professional before attempting to paint your Autolinx case.
   
    
4. Do they make a hitch for my car or bike?
   More than likely, but check here for trikes and bikes: www.cyclematetrailers.com and U-Haul for cars and trucks...
    
5. Isn't the hitch going to ruin the "look" of my sports car?
   Probably not, most are designed to be inconspicuous.
   
    
6. My bike doesn't have a hitch...what's that gonna cost me?
   Motorcycle kits start as low as $160 + freight...depending on the model. We don't stock these kits, but we can save you $$ by arranging shipment directly from the source.
   
    
7. Doesn't the Autolinx cover the rear license plate?
   Yes, as do bike racks and other hitch oriented accessories. We're sure you'll be tempted to leave it on but it's designed for temporary transport. If you're hyper-concerned, you may easily attach a copy of your tag to the case facade by using velcro or an adhesive back packing slip pouch.
   
    
8. The case to adapter interface seems tight?
   It's designed to be snug and will loosen after a few insertions
   
    
9. Will there be "play" in the hitch receiver... and what can I do about it?
   Slight variations in receivers (design, manufacturer, etc..) determine the amount of "toggle" they allow. Our Stabilizing Hitch-pin totally eliminates this toggle and provides a solid framework for your Autolinx.

Autolinx Limited Two-Year Warranty

Autolinx / Linxpartner is warranted for two years from date of retail purchase against defects in material and workmanship, and is solely for the benefit of the original consumer purchaser. (Retain your dated sales receipt as proof of purchase). COVERED: Replacement of defective parts and labor, and freight (UPS Ground) to cover product return and delivery.

NOT COVERED: Damages caused by negligence, abuse, failure to perform normal maintenance or failure to adhere to product instructions for use. Any other expense involving this product. This Warranty shall not apply to any defect, malfunction or failure to conform with the Warranty provisions if caused by damage (not resulting from defect or malfunction) due to unreasonable use or accidental occurrence involving the Purchaser. This includes CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES, INCLUDING DAMAGE TO PROPERTY and INJURY TO PERSONS. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, which may vary from state to state.
