  •  IMPORTANT NOTES...    Please Read Carefully... Read center page note...

I am not the manufacturer... I am the dealer... When you order the hitch, be sure you know your bike and any added parts like back rest, exhaust, saddle bags, etc.   I stock at least 40 hitches also...

  1. If hitch is damaged or parts are missing it will be replaced by Manufacturer... If Company sends wrong hitch, it will be replaced by them... Sold hundreds of hitches, only a couple problem to date...
  2. Hitch Doc hitches generally takes  three to five days for it to arrive by UPS once they ship it... Denray's to the West Coast up to two weeks, seven to ten days by Fed Ex else where... The hitches from down under 3 to 4 weeks...
  3. Hitch price does not include shipping, but is listed on site... The summer time can easily have a 30 day back order on some hitches... Remember;  No such thing as emergency, I needed it yesterday...  Manufactures for one don't care... I waited over 70 days for one in 2005...
  4. I drop ship hitches all over the USA and Canada... Shipping cost is on each link for each company... Denray Hitches over $250.00 from Canada to the States add $35.00 Duty Tax and $55.00 shipping by FedEx ground... Allow up to two weeks to receive hitch... Generally ships out within 24 hours...
  5. I accept MC, Visa, AmEx, Discover and e-checks over the phone {I need all info off check than void it out, I deposit certified printed check}... Personal checks at business, with driver's license, approved by Air Checks... See order form link at right, bottom... Cash also works... No money orders or bank checks, no exceptions... To much fraud...
  6. New 2009 hitches will be added when they become available...
  7. Hitches are warranty by the manufacture...
  8. Hitch Doc has been making Hitches quite a few years now... Easily can be a couple months or more for hitch, from April to Sept... Past two years Hitch Doc hitches  are 4 weeks back order not uncommon... It was 7 and 8 weeks in 2006... Don't call me and complain, call them... Please note; I have many companies I deal with and can get you a hitch from them...
  9. Denray is their Trade Name since the early 80's. They are the Manufacture... They also sell direct... But on their web site, they list none of their hitches... Up to date weekly on this site...
  10. Denray's inside hitch or hidden hitch is hidden and ball is removable by undoing two bolts...
  11. Hitches from down under is now listed... Click on the link, on right, to view total list for all motorcycle companies...
  12. I have over 792 hitches posted on this site... If it is not listed it's not made... I got  hitches available from four countries... will add more if I find them...
  13. Again, once the hitch has been open from package, you bought it... Should it get damaged or scratched [like while attempting to put it on, cost of re-chrome is purchases responsibility]... Returned only with manufacture defect... All hitches was sent with no scratches or marks...
  14. Refunds: There is a 35% restocking fee on hitch retail,  plus purchaser pays shipping both ways... Must have no scratches or marks... If scratched purchaser will pay to have re-chromed... Must have original packaging... Must be done within 30 days of receiving it... If you ordered the wrong hitch, this applies...
  15. Once your card has been charged and you cancel before hitch is sent, there is a $20.00 charge... If you should decide to reorder,  call someone else...
  16. I do not refund any money, if you find a cheaper one, after the order has been shipped...
  17. Once the order is shipped and order is refused or cancelled... There would be a 35% restocking charge and shipping paid both ways... No exceptions...
  18. I strive to keep all my websites current, dated on the home page and all pages... Prices subject to change without notice...
  19. All hitches and shipping are in US funds...
  20. Rarely if ever are there instructions to put on hitches from manufactures... I don't have any either... Most all hitches are quite self explanatory on how they are to go on... If you can't figure it out than maybe one should seek qualified help... AGAIN, Match Up Hitch to each side.  Bolts also don't come with many hitches, ALL companies... Need to go to hardware store for many hitch bolts because of accessories on bike...{Denray}
  21. If hitch is chrome, Bolts in most cases are black, NOT chrome plated... The reason is when something is chromed it adds thickness to the threads...
  22. On a regular bases,  bolts are not supplied with hitch from most all the manufactures... Be prepared to go to hardware store and buy them... No, I do not send any, If the company did not supply any than you must...
  23. One or two photos may be on each motorcyle brand link... About 100 hitch photos are on a seperate link near the list of companies... If your bike is not shown on this page I don't have one nor can I get one... In most cases you can click on hitch to enlarge and may have info under it...

NOTE: In the summer not uncommon to have a 4 to 6  week wait for hitches to be sent ... {Don't call me and complain, call them...}

Denray hitches can be sent out within 48 hours by FedEx...

READ # 4, 8, 20, 21 & 22 Above, Again... Allow two weeks shipping...

Hitch Companies Warnings:

  1. Do not exceed the motorcycle manufactures gross vehicle weight limit when loading or pulling a trailer...
  2. Tongue weight should never exceed 10% of gross trailer weight including contents and cargo...
  3. Hitchdoc & Denray maximum tongue weight 40 lbs... 400 gross
  4. Hitchdoc hitches are made from 3/8" and 1/4" plate steel...
  5. Hitchdoc receiver hitches are 1 1/8" square Not 1 1/4''
  6. Denrays hitches are tube type mostly...
  7. Lock or pin receiver
  8. Lock or pin coupler to ball...

Caution:

  • Always ride in a conservative and safety conscience manner when towing a trailer...
  • Motorcycle performance is always effected by adding a trailer to the motorcycle...
  • Never exceed motorcycle, trailer or hitch manufactures limits for gross weight or tongue weight...
  • Extra distance of 10 to 20 % is always required by motorcycles pulling a trailer...
  • Always decrease from normal speeds, when towing a trailer, going into a turn...
  • When riding in groups with trailer ride at the rear to decrease accident exposure...{ Personally I don't agree on this. If you maintain the staggered 2 second law, there should never be a problem.}
  • Never exceed posted speed signs for vehicles towing a trailer, which can be different than non towing...
  • Fast lanes may not allow towed vehicles, need to obey...

OTHER IMPORTANT FACTS:

  • There is a company in the USA that advertises Denray hitches as well as I do... To read his site it sounds as if he is the manufacture of Denray hitches... This is not true... He is only a dealer for them as am I... Getting the hitches from Canada...
  • Denray, from Canada has been in business since the early 80's manufacturing both hitches and trailers...
  • I give a discount on all trailers sold... I give no discount on hitches...
  • I get hitches from 9 different companies and four countries... If it is not on this web site for your make motorcycle, I can't get it... It's not made...
  • Note: Again... If it is not listed on my site it is not available... I update all hitches the first of each month...

 PURCHASER WARNING...

  1. Regardless of how the hitch gets put on your motorcycle, by either yourself, motorcycle dealer, trailer dealer or a friend... The newly installed hitch should be checked every hundred miles or so for the first 500 miles and at least every couple hundred miles afterwards for tightness of bolts or any hitch fatigue...
  2. Check how close tire is to hitch if a hidden hitch or near tire... Very Important... What was a safe distance to tire with one person on bike may create a hazard with two on bike... I have heard of a couple cases recently about this with tire sidewall rubbing when traveling down the road... Manufacture should be notified immediately, as well as the dealer...
  3. Remember... Safety should be your number one concern... Bolts can and do loosen up... Check frequently... Use lock tight on threads...
  4. Have also found nothing changed bike wise from one year to next, BUT, the newer year had a wider tire from year previous... Be aware of what tires you replace on your motorcycle...
  5. Hitch manufactures try there best. But sometimes they have very close tolerances to work with and regardless...
  6.  The new hitch owner has got to be responsible for there own safety...
